Weekly Weather Event -Week of May 2nd

Storms over the weekend of April 27th brought severe thunderstorms and destructive tornadoes all throughout the Central Plains. Out of the storms that impacted Kansas, the most destructive happened in Andover, staying on the ground for an impressive 21 minutes and traveling almost 13 miles. The tornado and its path of destruction were captured in some impressive videos, showcasing how the tornado spun up from both the ground and from the air. The tornado was given an EF-3 rating on the Enhanced Fujita scale with an estimated peak wind speed of 155 mph. While the tornado damaged and destroyed several buildings, amazingly, there were no fatalities from this event.
